Andre Emile Georget, 94, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, December 29th at Lakeview Pioneer Lodge in Wakaw. Andre was born on April 10, 1922 to Joseph A. and Marie Joseph (Gauthier) Georget in Wakaw, Saskatchewan, the oldest of six siblings. He met his beautiful bride, Marie Heroux at a house party in 1942 and they married in Domremy on October 29, 1945. Mixed farming and then grain farming was their livelihood for over 50 years. They enjoyed many house parties and weddings during those years at which Dad & several good friends provided waltz and polka music on their violins. Upon retirement, they delighted in many more house parties with a group of local musicians, Fiddlers and Friends. Following their retirement from farming, they moved to Domremy, Prince Albert, the Foyer in Bellevue and then to their final home, Lakeview Pioneer Lodge in Wakaw. Andre will be lovingly remembered by: his children Lawrence (Lil) Georget, Connie (Hank) Roy, Thomas (Michelle) Georget; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren Sheri Lasiuk (Devin) (Joanne, Stacey & Christine Honoroski) -- Sean (Lorrie) Georget (Hailey) -- Shelby (Deb) Georget (Mason & Nixon) -- Pat (Lori) Roy (Kiana, Kalan & Kyra) -- Danielle (Sheldon Letendre), Matthew (Melissa Grenier) and Jaime Georget; his sister Madeleine Georget, his sisters-in-law Alice (Roland) Bremner and Joan Bremner; numerous nieces and nephews. Andre was predeceased by his wife, Marie, his parents Joseph A. and Marie Joseph Georget, his grand-daughter Kristen Roy, his daughter-in-law Cecile (Roy) Georget, his sisters Maria, Thérèse and Alice, his brother Auguste, numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A Celebration of Life will be held in early April at the Ste Jeanne d’Arc Parish in Domremy. Anyone wishing to make a donation in memory of Andre may do so to the Domremy Golden Age Club.
