Obituary for Paule Lavergne

Paule Lavergne
Paule Lavergne passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2014 at the age of 95. Maman was born in St. Louis, SK. and grew up with her many siblings on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. They all knew the meaning of hard work in order to survive the hardships of the depression. She became a registered nurse graduating from the Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert in 1940. She subsequently worked in Gravelbourg and was matron of Laflèche Municipal Hospital through the war years. The last six months of her career before marrying Dad were at the Jewish General Hospital in Montréal.
Paule and Léonard were married from 1945 until his death in 1995. Together they raised seven children. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Jocelyne, Guy, Gisèle (John Brent), Gérald, Paulette (Lee Fuller), Louis (Claudette) and Marc (Sylvia); her grandchildren: Patrick Lavergne-Smith (Jacky Jenson), Nicole Lavergne-Smith (Luke Ryalls); Gislaine Correia (Kirk Ricketts), Hellen Correia (Aaron Anaman); Caitlin Brent (Derek Andreychuk), Sarah Brent (Anthony Brockbank), Jason (Susanna) Lavergne, Jessica Lavergne, Daniel Fuller (Rachel Gough), Marc Fuller (Jessica Gibson), Monica Fuller; Michelle Daniel (Ben Kei Daniel), Anne Lavergne (Corey Parenteau), Denis Lavergne (Rachelle), Thomas Lavergne (Brita Robson); Chantal Tait (Cole), Adele Lavergne (Troy Regnier), Stephan Lavergne (Anna Darbyshire) and took pride in all of their accomplishments. She was overjoyed with the arrival of her great grandchildren: Peighton and Ethan Tait, Anique Fuller, Zoey and Judah Lavergne, Loïc Fuller, Margot Ryalls, Harper Regnier, Laceida and Naira Anaman, Decio and Tadeuil Ricketts. Also remembering her are her sisters-in-law, Madeleine Blouin and Antoinette Daniel as well as her brother in law, Jean Forseille.
She was predeceased by her husband, Léonard, her daughters-in-law, Lucia and Diane, her parents and all her brothers and sisters.
Paule was a gentle, kind hearted and soft spoken person. She loved singing, writing poetry, a good book, anything chocolate, lemon pie, watching birds and beautiful flowers.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Circle Drive Special Care Home. A special thanks to Dr. Nora McKee for many years of wonderful care.
