Obituary for Mary Sylvia Nagy (Osolinsky)

Mary Sylvia Nagy, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 years, at the St.Paul's hospital, with family at her side. Mary was born Sept 16, 1942 on the homestead farm at Wakaw, Sask, to Frank and Hafia (Youzwa) Osolinsky. She was the youngest of the four children. Mary Graduated from the Wakaw High School in 1961 and in the fall on Oct 21st, she married Ben, where they farmed together in the Wakaw area. Mary loved and adored children, and was blessed with Larry, Laurie and Sherry Anne. She was very happy to be a mother, and Ben's helper from homemaker to driving tractors. She was blessed with many talents and pursued art, from drawing to painting. Her first art showing was in 1977, at the Thomas Moore
College in Saskatoon. She attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Bridgeport, Conn., USA, for a portrait painting class, with the "classic approach". During the pandemic, with great enthusiasm she continue her
art, where she started her own website to display her art and accept commissions.

Mary took a break from art to return to school and graduated with a Bachelor of Social work in 1998. She then started working at the Wakaw Hospital for the Health Region and eventually retired from being the Home Care Coordinator in 2007.

Mary always welcomed everyone with a warm smile, a twinkle in her eyes, and loved unconditionally. She was encouraging, compassionate and generous. She helped anyone in need, gladly accepted new challenges and no one ever left her place hungry. Mary had a tremendous love for her husband Ben, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Many happy occasions were celebrated in their cabin at Wakaw Lake, and their winter home, in Arizona. Mary and Ben enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Hawaii, Arizona and once did a tour of Europe. She had a very strong faith in God, and had various roles in the Church, and the community.

Mary leaves in her passing, her devoted husband Ben, her children, Larry (Sandra) Nagy and Laurie Nagy, her 13 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, son-in-law Charles Vachon, her sister-in-law Mary Osolinsky, brothers-in-law Lambert (Adrell) Nagy and Jerry (Donna) Nagy, as well as several neices, nephews, relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her parents Frank and Hafia (Youzwa) Osolinsky, parents-in-law John and Esther Nagy, her daughter Sherry Anne Vachon, her nephew Richard Osolinsky, her great nephew Brent
Osolinsky, her brother Victor Osolinsky and her sisters Anne (John) Kosmynka and Bronia Osolisnky. We would like to thank all those who contributed and helped in any way with Mary's Life.
