Obituary for Denis Andre Jobin

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, & I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

Denis Andre Jobin was born on June 4, 1944 to Joseph and Jeannette Jobin on the farm near Bellevue Saskatchewan. Dad grew up on the farm learning the value of a good day's work, the importance of family and a love of outdoor sportsmanship. At the tender age of 18 he moved to Thompson, Manitoba and got a job at INCO. During his years in Thompson he and his friends established a fishing camp on an Island at Paint Lake where they would spend their spare time fishing, laughing and living their best life. That little Island with the tents and the boats was the beginning of a long love of nature, hunting, fishing, animal husbandry, boating, snowmobiling and just sitting outdoors enjoying the beauty of the world. He met his wife, Sonja, in 1963 and in 1970 their livelong commitment to each other began. In April 1974 dad moved his family to Domremy, Saskatchewan. Being a prairie boy he knew he belonged in Saskatchewan. They opened a service station/restaurant and operated it for 24 years. He had a ready smile and a helping hand for anyone that walked through the door. Throughout his life dad instilled in all of his kids his love of the outdoors, he taught us to hunt, camp, fish and enjoy the moment. He taught us to work for what we wanted, to live for what we needed and to be happy. Denis leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 52 years, Sonja; his children grandchildren and great grandchildren: Terry (Ken) Huculiak, Domremy, SK (Dannielle and her daughter Kennedy-Lynn), Sherry (Shawn) Martin, Domremy, SK (Jeffery and Jordan), Larry Jobin of Domremy, SK, Tammy (Ian Thomas) Jobin of Wakaw, SK (Wade, Miranda (Kyle) and her daughter Kylie, Colin and Sydney) and Jerry (Tracy) Jobin of Prince Albert, SK (Brae, Kristen and her daughter Farryn, Raven, Kuana, Krey and Kolbie); his sister Sylvia (Wes) Jeske, his brother Andy (Gail) Jobin; his sisters-in-law, Inger (Alvin) Frey & Carol Hoffensetz; his brother-in-law John (Bonnie) Hoffensetz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives & friends.
