Obituary for Olive Evelyn Bodnarchuk
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olive Evelyn (Vachon) Bodnarchuk on June 16, 2021 at Wakaw Lakeview Pioneer Lodge at the age of 83.
Olive leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory, her children: Luc (Cecile) Gareau, Jerome Gareau, Laurine (Phil) Haniak, Diana (Dale) Penner, Rose-Ann (Dwayne) Galambos, Janey (Keon) Clift, Daughter In Law Marie Gareau, numerous grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her siblings, Gerald (Claudia) Vachon, Patricia Vachon, Gaetan (Lorraine) Vachon and Louise (Mike) Vachon-Raque, as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Olive is predeceased by her husband Peter Bodnarchuk, her son Lucien Gareau, parents Alfred Vachon and Yvonne Pare, stepmother Laura Vachon, her brother Denis Vachon and sister Monique Grenier, her daughter in law Dawn Bell and her first husband Isidore Gareau.
Olive had a passion for sewing and started at a young age. She was a professional seamstress specializing in gowns, draperies and many sewing projects in between.
Olive was a great musician, playing piano and learning how to play the violin. She was an avid card player, green thumb, enjoyed curling and hockey, loved wine, superb painter and of course couldn’t wait to go fishing and camping.
