Catherine Jungwirth from Cudworth, SK, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 96 surrounded by her family. Catherine was born in Cudworth on Dec 10, 1922 to Bernard and Anna Bens who farmed in the Leofeld area. Catherine was the 3rd youngest of 10 children. She attended school in Leofeld and after finishing school, worked for various neighbors until she married Victor Jungwirth on May 30, 1944. She then began her new career as a homemaker and mother and raised a family of eight children. Catherine leaves to mourn her passing: DENIS’ children, Brent (Leanne), Denise and Neil; JOYCE Wedewer, Cory, Pam Chilliak (Daryl), Wendy Orosz (Clayton) and Rod (Leanne); CLARENCE (Margaret), Laurel Leuschen, Jennifer (Duane) Frie, Mark (Erin), Stephen (Jennifer); LARRY (Deby), Shawn (Tara), Scott (Sarah), Michelle (Cameron) Leddy; ROBERT, Kathleen (Reese); LLOYD (Debbie), Jonathan (Cheng), Nathaniel (Leatta), Daniel; EUGENE (Grace), Andrew (Lindsey), Matthew, Chris (Alyssa) Jordan; VICKY Martinson, Heather Sholter, Lorraine Jungwirth; mother of Denis’ children, Lucy Jungwirth; sister-in-law Betty Bens, and sister and brother in-law Joe and Loretta Krentz; 33 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Catherine was predeceased by her dear husband, Victor of 74 years, her son Denis, her sons-in-law, Don Wedewer and Jerry Chernishenko and infant granddaughter Melissa as well as all of her siblings. We want to say special thanks to the caring staff of the Cudworth Nursing Home for the loving care provided to our mother during her stay with them, especially during her final days. We would also like to thank Father Colin Roy of St. Michael’s Parish for the spiritual support provided to mom and the family. The Prayer Vigil will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m.. Both Services will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Cudworth, SK, with Rev. Fr. Colin Roy as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Catherine may be directed to the Cudworth Nursing Home or to St. Michael’s Haven.
