Ronald Russell Cairns, age 65, passed away suddenly on August 20th, 2019 surrounded by his family after a 5-year battle with lung cancer. Ron was born December 23rd, 1953 in Saskatoon, SK to Russell & Nora Cairns. Although a wild city boy at heart, Dad embraced rural living working 35 years as a lineman for SaskTel and farming in Cudworth, SK. It was there that he met the women he would spend the next 35 years with, Patti Sikorski, and decided to raise his family for the next 32 years on their gorgeous acreage. Dad was known for his incredible artistic talent & his many works can be found throughout Cudworth & in the homes of his many friends. His incredible generosity, welcoming nature & infectious sense of humour were qualities that anyone who met him would always remember. Ron's passions were art, cars, music, wood carving, landscaping, and his children & grandchildren. His greatest passion was his wife, who he is now reunited with. Ron was predeceased by his wife Patti, his father Russell, his mother Nora, and his stepfather Frank. He is lovingly remembered by his 4 children; Jeremy (Bev) Cairns; granddaughter Rayne (Tim) Orange; Kimberly (Jared) Dahl; Dusty (Alex) Johnston; grandson Ryker; Kendra Cairns (Layne); granddaughter Scarlett; his sister Lorraine (Bill) Wasyliw; his brother Wayne (Judy) Cairns; his father & mother-in-law, Joseph & Albina Sikorski; his sister-in-law Darcie (Jack) Lieffers; numerous nieces & nephews; and his precious fur babies Kylo, Remy & Vinnie. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Cudworth on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Colin Roy as officiant. Interment of the Urn will follow at the Ukrainian Catholic Ascension Cemetery at Laniwici. Donations in Dad's honour, may be directed to St. Michael's Haven, which was near and dear to his heart.
