Uhryn, Terry passed away peacefully on August 5, 2019 at the age of 71. He was born on July 21, 1949 to Nick and Mary Uhryn and grew up on the farm in the Sniatyn District. He met the love of his life, Iris Sytarchuk, and they married on July 17, 1971. Together they moved back to the farm and continued grain and cattle farming until their final years. They cherished their children Michelle (Steve) Skoworodko (Jackson, Tyler, Noah, and Danika); Annette (Brad) Kjargaard (Finn and Hanna); Amanda (Marc) Boutin (Silas, Blaire and Nate). In the summer of 2002, he began his new job at the Wakaw Lake Regional Park, as security and then as maintenance for the golf course. Terry begin his seasonal job at the Wakaw Arena in 2004. He was idolized by his grandkids, as he would wave from the Zamboni to them. His work led to everlasting friendships. He was a man of solitude but enjoyed any moments he had visiting with the neighbouring farmers and friends. Everything Terry did was for his girls and their children. Gido had a rough sense of humour, that only his grandchildren understood and loved, and loved him they did! Quality time with Gido was a ride on the tractor or quad. Terry was passionate about the garden, was an incredible baker and had a secret love for horses. After nine months of deeply mourning his wife Iris, they have been reunited to continue their journey together. He leaves behind his family, his sister Darcie (Ron) Skakun and his niece and nephew. Terry was predeceased by his wife, Iris, his infant sons David and Donny, and his parents Nick and Mary Uhryn. The Prayer Service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. and the Funeral Service on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Both services will be held at St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church at St. Julien with Rev. Fr. Michael Lomaskiewicz officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Julien Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw SK, 306-233-4403.
