Obituary for Bruce Tetarenko

Our family sadly announces the passing of Bruce Tetarenko on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at the Victoria Union Hospital in Prince Albert,Saskatchewan. Dad was born on the farm at Cando, Sask on March 17th, 1921. He lived a long and full life passing in his 98th year. Bruce stayed and worked on the family farm until he and his brothers joined the army. While in the army, he acquired much experience operating all types of equipment. Upon returning from the Second World War, he got a job working in road construction. While building the #2 Highway south of Prince Albert, he met Rosanna Boyer. In 1951 they were married spending 63 years together. They had four sons Donald, Glen, Douglas and Wallace. Life was busy for them in St. Louis where they lived. He worked as a mechanic in the garage he partnered in. His mechanic skills came in very handy over the years keeping cars running for his 4 boys. He was active in the community of St. Louis,being a member of the Lions Club, Curling Club and the Volunteer Fire Department.

Bruce always enjoyed his sports, playing and watching his boys and grand kids. He was an avid Prince Albert Raider hockey fan even though in his later years, he only was able to listen to them on the radio. Dad and Mom enjoyed dancing, house parties and going on bus trips. He enjoyed yard work, gardening and he kept his yard and vehicle meticulous. His house and yard were his pride and joy. After retiring Dad and Mom moved into Prince Albert. Mom passed away in 2015 and Dad was able to live on his own till November2016. He then moved into the River's Edge Villa in St. Louis.

Bruce will be greatly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed keeping in touch with family members and friends by phone calls. We will all miss those calls, to let us know a sports score or to ask what we had been up to.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dale Ardell, the Victoria Union Hospital staff and the staff at the River's Edge Villa in St. Louis for the compassionate care given to Dad. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in St. Louis, SK, on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Ramel Macapala as celebrant. Interment of the Urn will follow at the Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Bruce may be directed to a charity of personal choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK, 306-234-4403.
