Obituary for Armand Rabut

Armand Rabut
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, Armand Rabut. He passed away peacefully October 13th at the age of 89 at the Victoria Union Hospital. Dad was predeceased by the love of his life, Suzanne (Begrand) in 2007; his parents Pierre and Eliza Rabut; siblings Fernand, Joseph (Florence), Rose, Juliette, Rene (Anna), Arsene (Rita); father and mother-in-law, Fernand and Germaine Begrand; Brothers and sisters-in-law Marcel (Marge) Begrand, Aubert (Marie) Begrand, Aline (Remi Georget), Denise Begrand, Yvonne (Josephat Georget). Dad was born on June 4, 1928 in the farm home in Domremy, SK. Farming was his passion from a young man. He married Suzanne Begrand on October 25, 1949. They worked tirelessly on the farm raising their 6 children. When the family became more independent, they loved to travel south to Las Vegas, Arizona, Mexico and Hawaii. They also enjoyed camping with their many friends and family. After Mom and Dad retired from the farm they moved to Prince Albert. The farm was never far from his mind right up to his passing. Dad loved to spend time with his family. He was always entertaining his young grandchildren and great grandchildren with his funny faces and smiles. His faith and church were very important in his life and he transferred those qualities to his family. He spent the last few years at Mont St. Joseph Home whose staff and residents became his second family. Dad is survived by his loving family, Armande (Laurent Gaudet), Claire (Larry Wilson), Hubert (Karen Evans), Lorette (Ken Shaw), Alain (Laurie) and Giselle Atkinson; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Thanks go out to Dr. Gordon Surkan and the 5th Floor staff of the Victoria Union Hospital for their wonderful care during Dad’s stay. Also special thanks to all the Mont St. Joseph Home staff, Father D.J. and Deacon Eldon for their care, many visits and support.
