It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and great-uncle, Michael William Kostyniuk at his home on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the age of 54 years. Michael was born on July 6, 1962 to William and Hilda Kostyniuk at St. Michael's Hospital, in Cudworth, he is the second oldest child. He started his education in Prince Albert, SK and completed his education in Wakaw, SK. He was raised in a loving home with three sisters and two brothers. Michael was a gentle, quiet, loving young man. A man that didn't need words to show his presence. He enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball, and softball during his school days.
He was employed with many local farmers, and after his education he became employed with numerous Construction Companies. He also loved to cook. In 1996, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and his ability to work became limited, yet he pushed himself to help out as much as possible. Michael had a passion for the elderly and would visit them to pass his long days and theirs. His love was his family and friends. Michael was predeceased by his father, William (Senior), grandparents Michael and Elizabeth Kapeller, Nick and Mary Kostyniuk, brother-in-law, Raymond St. Germaine, and many aunts and uncles. He will be forever remembered and loved by his mother, Hilda, his sisters: Rosemarie St. Germaine, Susan (Gerry) Clark, Katherine (Kim) Thorpe; his brothers: William Kostyniuk and Robert (Donna) Kostyniuk; his nieces and nephews: Mason (Olya) St. Germaine, Chantelle (Derek) Osolinsky, Brennan Kostyniuk, Brent Kostyniuk, Nolan Clark, Krista Clark, Andrew Kostyniuk (Danielle Waterfield), Jesse Kostyniuk, and Ryan Thorpe; his great-niece and nephews: Addison and Jonah Osolinsky and ftlineDominic St. Germaine; his uncle John Csapo, and numerous cousins. The Mass of Christian Burial was be celebrated at the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Wakaw on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Phong Tran as celebrant. Interment followed in the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were his six nephews. Readers and gift bearers were his nieces and sister-in-law Donna. The Cross bearer was his nephew Derek Osolinsky. The eulogy was given by his sister, Susan. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK, 306-233-4403.
