Obituary for William Pawluk

William Pawluk
Dad passed away peacefully at the Rosthern Hospital on July 16, 2015, at the age of 96 with his family at his side. Bill was born in Wakaw on September 12, 1918 to George and Anna (Bilous) Pawluk. He married Emily Huculiak in 1943 and together they raised three children: John, Terry and Debbie. Bill and Emily farmed in the Carpenter district. In 1962, they chose to make Cudworth their home, continuing to farm into the 80's. Bill worked as a parts man for Massey Ferguson, Zimmer Motors and Schulzke Service. He took great pride in his job, being available 24/7 for his customers, making many friends through the years. He remained president of the Carpenter Church into his 90th year. He also served at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cudworth. After Emily’s passing in 1996, Bill remained in his home. He enjoyed gardening, especially tending to his roses. He loved visits from family and friends and cruising around town in his car, and later his scooter. In 2007, he decided to make a move into St. Michael’s Haven where he resided until his passing. Bill “Loved” his scooter and rode it year round, going for coffee, meals at Applewood and doing errands for his friends at the Haven. The red flag on the scooter marked his whereabouts. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his wife Emily and his infant daughter Iris, who was a twin to Terry; his brothers Peter, Nick (Mary) and John; his sisters Lena (John) Klamot, Olga (Jack) Bazowski and Mary (Bill) Chernowski; his nephew Nestor Huculiak and numerous in-laws. He is survived by his children: John (Lana) of Langham, SK., Terry (Donna) of Saskatoon, SK., and Debbie (Ross) Hackl of Cudworth, SK.; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, his sister Toni (Mike) Bodnar; his sisters-in-law Alice Pawluk and Olga (Bruce) Robertson; his brother-in-law Alex Huculiak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Stevens and the staff at the Rosthern Hospital, the staff at St. Michael’s Haven, Rev. Fr. Mykola Romanets, and Marc of Kushneryk Funeral Service.
