HARBUS- (JEAN) of Wakaw, Sk. passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018 at the wonderful age of 102 years. Jean was born January 18, 1916 at Dana, SK. She married Joseph Harbus in 1936 & together they farmed for 5 years. They moved to Prud’homme in 1941where over the years they owned & operated the theatre & dance hall. In 1976 they moved to Anglin Lake & after some time moved to Wakaw. Grandma was blessed to have lived in her own home until she was 98. In the winter of 2015 she became a resident of the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge after an unfortunate fall. Throughout her lifetime she enjoyed fishing, cross country skiing & playing her ukulele, in a band with grandpa. Bingo then became her passion, often playing three times a week. Car rides & dining out, there was nothing better than that. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Left to mourn her passing is her 2 sons: Peter (Lesia) Canora, SK; Bill, Calgary, AB; 2 grandchildren: Cheryl Harbus, New Market, ON; Gloria Harbus (Bill) Regina, SK; 5 great grandchildren & several great great great children, and a special friend Marianne Hildebrandt, Wakaw, SK.
