Obituary for Allan Michael "Al" Burechailo

It is with great sadness to announce that Allan (Al) Michael Burechailo passed away in Wakaw, SK on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at the age of 70. Al is predeceased by his parents, Mike and Martha Burechailo. Al is survived by his loving wife Lorie of 50 years, married in Batoche on August 17, 1968, his daughters Lisa Burechailo (Gena and Wyatt) of Calgary, AB and Tania (Dale) Kristoff (Owen) of Wakaw; his son Michael (Kayla) Burechailo (Michael, Marti and Manny) of Wakaw; his brother Terry of Shellbrook, his sister Dale of Saskatoon; his sister-in-law Beth Burechailo of Medicine Hat, AB; as well as his loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Al was born at Scott’s Point, Wakaw, SK, February 8,1948. He graduated from Domremy High School after which he embarked on a banking career with the Royal Bank for the next 16 years. Al was active in the Kinsmen and the Knights of Columbus. In the Kinsmen, he advanced to the level of Governor of Saskatchewan. In that role of Kinsmen Governor, he also participated in the Foundation Board of Telemiracle for numerous years. In the Knights of Columbus, he held numerous positions on the executive and was an active member until 2018. Al also owned a car dealership in Assiniboia and worked as a collection agent for Agriculture Canada. When the opportunity arose to take over the family farm 25 years ago, he found his true calling. He farmed until present. Al also served on the church financial committee which was instrumental in the construction and renovation of the roof of the St. Theresa Parish Church of Wakaw.
