Brian Kuemper passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK, on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the age of 68 years. Brian was born on July 10, 1949 to Clemens and Antoinnetta (nee Bader) Kuemper at Humboldt, SK and was raised on the Kuemper farm North East of Muenster. He was the 14th of 16 children. In 1971, he married Valerie Wright and together they raised three beautiful children. Brian served his community as an owner/operator of the local Bigway grocery store in Cudworth, SK for 25 years. He was also a funeral director at Scharf’s funeral home. He was very active in the community volunteering for numerous projects and was a member of the Lions Club for over 20 years. He loved the “lake life” and loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered and is survived by his loving wife; Valerie, his three children: Vanessa (Michael) Hepp, Marlon Kuemper and Bryce (Erin) Kuemper, 6 grandchildren: Madelyn, Danica, Sophia, Gage, Elise and Logan, mother-in-law Elizabeth Caillon, his 4 brothers and 8 sisters: Eugene (Katie) Kuemper, Irene (Arnold) Sarauer, Alice Nordick, Loreen (Ken) Faul, Angeline (Ivan) Dale, Ronald Kuemper, Rosemary (Ron) Muggli, Leonard (Shirley) Kuemper, Virginia (Robert) Kaese, Gloria (Ernst) Kuehne, Roger (Clara) Kuemper, Kara Kuemper; sister-in-laws Diane Kuemper, Verna Kuemper and also four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law Ron (Sandra) Wright, Dan (Deb) Wright, Cheryl (Harold) Bieringer, Diana (Gary) Schlosser, Trudy (Ron) Synchena, Kim (Mark) Bunz, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Clemens and Antoinnetta Kuemper and father-in-law Frank Wright, two brothers Dennis Kuemper and Walter Kuemper, and sister Helen Huls, brothers-in-law Art Nordick, Bernard Huls and sister-in-law, Irene Kuemper. The Prayer Vigil was held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Both Services were held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Cudworth with Rev. Fr. Colin Roy as celebrant. Interment of the Urn followed in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations in memory of Brian may be directed to St. Michael’s Haven in Cudworth or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
