It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John Yuzdepski, known by all as “ J Y”, at the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge in Wakaw, on Sunday April 10, 2016 at the age of 91 years. John was born in the Cudworth District on December 11, 1924 to Anton and Dora (Samborski) Yuzdepski. He married Virginia Olchove in October of 1949. They were married for 60 years. John was a hard worker, no matter what he did. He was well liked by all who knew him. He made the best perogies in the world. He liked to play his fiddle and dance with his wife at gatherings. He cherished visiting with family and friends. Some of his favourite pass times included playing Bingo and watching the Blue Jays and the Maple Leafs. John will be lovingly remembered by his son Terry (Mary Anne) of Alvena, SK. and his daughter Lori Clermont of Vernon, B.C., 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, his brothers Ed and Victor, his sister Lena, as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Virginia, his son Jack, his brothers: Peter, Julius, Bill, Joe, Steve and Wally; and his sisters Mary and Jean. A memorial Service was held at the Alvena Community Centre on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Phon Tran officiating. Interment of the Urn will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of John may be directed to the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK, 306-233-4403.
