Obituary for Sylvia Mary Rose Reaser

Sylvia Mary Rose Reaser
Sylvia Mary Rose Reaser (nee Kirzinger) passed away peacefully on February 13, 2015 at the Cudworth Health Centre. She was 66 years old. Sylvia was born at home in Bruno, SK on October 3rd, 1948 to Wilfred and Agnes Kirzinger, their first daughter and second child. As a young girl, the family moved to Saskatoon, then Edmonton. She spent her high school years at St. Ursula’s Academy in Bruno. In her grade twelve year she met her future husband, Bob Reaser. After high school, Sylvia moved to be with her parents, who were now living in Victoria, BC. In 1969, Bob and Sylvia reconnected and were married on October 11th at St. Michael’s RC Church in Cudworth, SK. They lived their entire married life on Bob’s family farm east of Cudworth, growing grain, and raising cattle, turkeys and two children: Brian born in 1972 and Michelle born in 1981. Sylvia received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan in 1986. She taught at the Dana Radar Base, and was a substitute teacher for the Wakaw School Division. In the late 1980’s, she built a very successful photography business in Cudworth, taking many family, wedding and school photos. Next on her list of pursuits was running the Cudworth Motor Inn with Bob from 1991 to 1999. She and Bob created a thriving business in the hotel, mainly because of the way they made their customers and employees feel like true friends. After selling the hotel, Sylvia and Bob semi-retired back to the farm. Their yard and garden became her next passion. The flowers, trees and other pieces made the farm feel more like a park. Bob and Sylvia both loved to entertain friends and family in their home. When her grandchildren came along, Sylvia loved to shower them with gifts big and small, especially clothing made with her two hands in her little sewing room. She spent quite a bit of time helping to take care of Audrey, Ellie and Hank, and was very involved along with Bob in their day to day lives. Sylvia was full of passion, and loved a challenge. Everything Sylvia did was done with full commitment; from being chair of the School Community Council to spending the day baking in her kitchen. Her enthusiasm will be greatly missed. Left to celebrate her life are her husband of 45 years, Bob, her son Brian and wife Wendy, her daughter Michelle and fiancé Barry Regehr, and grandchildren Audrey, Elizabeth, and Hank, all of Cudworth; her brothers and sisters: Larry (Julie) Kirzinger of Victoria, BC, Thelma (Harry) Saunders of Los Angeles, CA, Ron Kirzinger of Edmonton, AB, Colleen (Bill) McGavin of Victoria, BC, David (Pam) Kirzinger of Vancouver, BC and Ken (Isabel) Kirzinger of Vancouver, BC; her brothers and sisters in law Roger (Shirley) Reaser of Cudworth, SK, Val Kammermayer of Saskatoon, SK, Al (Kathy) Reaser of Saskatoon, SK, and Audrey Reaser of Cudworth, SK. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Agnes Kirzinger, her parents in law, Alphonse and Frieda Reaser, and two sisters in law, Eileen (Reaser) Kolla and Mary (Reaser) McLeod.
