Obituary for Molly Helene Arnold

Molly Helene Arnold
We remember Molly with love and respect. Molly was born on Monday June 8, 1931 in London England and passed away Sunday November 10, 2013 at Lakeview Pioneer Lodge in Wakaw Saskatchewan. Molly was always proud of her birthplace, her homeland, and her British heritage.
Molly is survived by her sister Joan (Peter) Palmer of Turners Hill, West Susex, England, and her children Sally and Jane; her sister-in-law Pat Rumph of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England and her children Alexander and Hannah; her special friend Fay Michayluk of Wakaw, SK.; as well as several friends in Vernon B.C. and Wakaw, SK. Molly was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Caroline Rumph and her brother Bob Rumph.
Molly was a dear friend to Fay Michayluk and her children Rob and Kathy. Molly and Fay met 40 years ago while enrolled in the University Diploma course for Hospital and Health Care Administration at The University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Over the years Fay and Molly visited each other often at their respective homes. Molly enjoyed watching Rob and Kathy grow up and always took an interest in their lives.
A Registered Nurse trained in England, a midwife, a certified TB nurse and a hospital administrator, Molly was always proud of her profession and loved being a nurse. In 1973 the ever adventurous Molly immigrated to Canada to be the hospital administrator in the small southern Saskatchewan community of Coronach. Molly’s nursing career had taken her many places including all over England and Libya as well as Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and finally to Vernon BC, where she completed her career at a long term care facility. She retired in 1996 and continued to reside in Vernon BC.
Molly’s health began to deteriorate in 2011 and on October 1st of that year she decided to move to Wakaw to be near her dear friend Fay and her family. In May of 2013, as her health continued to fail, Molly moved to Lakeview Pioneer Lodge in Wakaw where she spent the remainder of her days.
Molly was blessed with a visit from her sister Joan in June 2013 Joan spent three weeks with Molly and they enjoyed their time together going for walks outdoors and recalling family and friends in England.
Many dear friends in and around Vernon BC kept in touch with Molly and phoned, sent cards and kept her in their thoughts. She had been sad to leave them when she moved back to Saskatchewan and she mentioned them often.
A Graveside Service will take place Saturday November 16 at 11:00 am at the Wakaw Town Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK, 306-233-4403.
